Kitchens have changed
Category: Blog - January 13, 2011
Kitchens. They are the heart of most homes, and have been for a long time. Remember (well us old fogies do) June Cleaver and Margaret Anderson in their house dresses and aprons? Quite a contrast from today's expanses of stone, wood, and cabinetry as far as the eye can see. These two Parade of Homes photos show exactly how far we've come. First, Mrs. Vern Donnay, of our very own Donnnay Homes, looks lovely demonstrating the latest in kitchen design and products from the 1959 Parade of Homes. Contrast that with the 2nd photo of last year's Reggie and Trillium winning kitchen by Accent Homes. Enjoy.

Thanks for posting the contrasting photos. I'm actually trying to buy a 1960 rambler where the kitchen is eerily similar to the '59 photo, down to the little clock above the doorway to the other room. I actually love that little clock. I would LOVE to see before/after photos of a 1960's era galley kitchen remodel.
